Carnegie Center was the original Carnegie Library of Phoenix, funded by Andrew Carnegie money in 1908.  Today, the unique structure provides a multi-service facility serving workers and residents in downtown Phoenix and the eastern Capitol Mall.  It provides a meeting space for community groups, holds a collection of State geneaology, archives, legal and general references.  Carnegie Center is also the home of the Arizona Women's Hall of Fame Museum and  the location of the Arizona Center for the Book -- an affiilate of the Center for the Book in the Library of Congress.  Carnegie Center provides a program for people in transition: leaving, re-entering, or retiring from the work force called The Bonus Years: Connecting @ the Carnegie.  Carnegie Center is located in Carnegie Library Park on the corner of 10th Ave and Washington, three blocks west of the S.7th Avenue exit off the I-10.
